Our Organisation

Perth International Dance exists to

  • Promote, teach and encourage the art of folk dancing in Western Australia,
  • Collect and record folk dances from diverse ethnic groups and cultures,
  • Collect and record folk dance music and
  • Perform folk dances and maintain folk dance as a part of the Western Australian culture.
We run three regular international folk dance classes and dance sessions around Perth, Western Australia.

From time to time we also run short beginners courses and once or twice a year the group runs weekend workshops, often featuring international guest teachers, and other events. Check out what's new here. Several times a year we also have special party or theme nights which are great fun for members and friends.

We also love to have visiting folk dancers from interstate or overseas come and join us for one or more sessions.
Look out for our performances and workshops at major music festivals, local community arts festivals and other dance events.
